: - China

Finally!! :h: I can’t wait to see Mark after a month of him travelling in Bhutan, Kathmandu and Tibet. It’s the longest we’ve been apart! I arrived in Beijing without any hitch, managed to find the bus station where I took the bus to the Railway station. Unfortunately I didn’t listen to the Lonely Planet book and took a “Tuk Tuk” to find the Redwall Hotel (I was giving the driver a benefit of a doubt which sadly backfired! :grr: ). I found myself lost in the middle of Beijing where not many people could understand English and my phrase book was not good enough!!

Anyway to cut the long story short, I managed to find a taxi to take me to the Redwall Hotel. Mark arrived in Beijing after a 2 days train journey from Tibet and was already waiting at the Hotel. It was so weird seeing him again… :look:

We spent approximately three weeks in China, walked on the Great Wall, saw the beautiful and serene Summer Palace, enjoyed the amazing Forbidden City, a lovely day out at Beijing Zoo (shame the Pandas were held in a rather small confinement!), took the overnight train to Xi’an where we saw the Terracotas Warriorsand finally a three days cruise in River Yangtze and see the Three Gorges

We were disappointed that we didn’t have time to go to Shanghai because Mark’s Chinese VISA expired and since it was organised by the travel company in Tibet, we were unable to extend it. So after the cruise, we took the overnight train from Wuhan to Shenzhen for Hong Kong. Sadly Mark ate/drank something dodgy in Wuhan (we think it’s the orange juice from the McDonald), and he needed to be taken into hospital. The ambulance arrived and once I paid, Mark was put on drips and we stayed at the hospital all day.

Our original plan to go straight to HK went out of the window and we spent about 3/4 days for Mark to recover. Thankfully he wasn’t charged any fine at the border as he went over his Chinese VISA - I think it’s because he smiled at the immigration officer!! .

:purpleflower: Delicious Peking Duck we had in Beijing
:purpleflower: The tobogan ride we took from the top of the Great Wall - I did not let go off the brake even once!!

: - Goodbye …

Its a sad way to start the Easter weekend, our beloved cat, Vienna, died earlier. She had been having trouble with her breathing, we thought it was just a cold, when it got worse we took her to the vet. After an X-Ray, they took care of her overnight to see if its asthma and gave her plenty of clean oxygen. However she didn’t get any better so the vet needs to see what’s blocking her air passage way by putting a little camera down her throat. It was a very risky procedures as she was already having trouble breathing, every single breath was such a struggle for her. We saw her before this and soon after we received news that Vienna died and they found out that it was a tumour that was blocking her breathing. She had been more than just a pet, she was a member of our family and we all going to miss her. Farewell dear Vienna, you will always be remembered…

: - This makes my blood boil!!

Some idiot just hacked defaced my mum’s charity website!! What kind of person would do such a thing? Yes you are right, an idiot who has nothing better to do, well basically a waste bloody space!!

I am pissed off because this is my mum’s hard work, she spent ages maintaining this website and now some piss head mucked it up! What the hell is going on in that bloody idiot’s mind? I can’t help her because I have no idea how to use Joomla and she didn’t make any back ups of her databases.

WHY WHY WHY is there such people who refuse to live in a world of harmony!!! It was a charity website dedicated to help Indonesian’s children who struggles to afford their schooling. Instead of exercising your skill to destroy other people’s creation, why doesn’t this idiot use it to help others instead? Why destroy when you can help to CREATE! It’s bad enough that we can’t make a difference in this ‘war ravaged’ world, now this kind of person exists! A stupid insignificant worthless piss head who needs to get a better life!! (Can’t find anything better to do mate? Why don’t you volunteer in your local charity shop!!)

Anyway enough of my rants, this is Ramadhan and is a time to forgive, even for a worthless person who has nothing better to do than hacking defacing a charity website. Still alive, struggling to survive mentally in this challenged world. Peace out. G x

After talking about it with Jo, I decided to wait a couple of years to see whether I need to have a chemical peel. My facial skin is definitely not at its best for the last couple of months, plus I am guilty of picking at my spots and little blemishes.

:upd: Changed layout to a free layout available at daynah.net as I have no inspiration to make my own. I haven’t decided whether I will add the shoutbox as I am guilty of not returning the visits.
